Guest guest
Om Namah Sivaya, dearest Ekta, sweetest Nanda and most Beloved Family, Ekta --thanks so much for your message, it was such a great help to me to think and understand! Thank you! Thank you! Dear Nanda - thanks sooooo much for your MOST valuable 2 cents and for asking Swamiji. I feel sooooo grateful. Even the devas are not as lucky as us - to be able to get advice from our Divine Swamiji. Jai Swamiji! Jai Maa! For now i am just going to try to chant the Chandi and if and when we go to the affected areas i will do my best to do more worship there. Thanks to all of you for your inspiration and love! Just want to share a little story from Nagoor (this is a little village in Tamil Nadu). Most of the people affected by Tsunami here are fisherfolk. The women were by the sea shore selling fish and men were in the deep sea fishing and children were playing in the beach. So most of the victims were women and children who could not run fast enough. One of our sevas was serving food to the survivors. We were serving food in a high school and had laid out tables and were waiting for the rice, sambhar (daal) and vegetable to come in vans. Many little children had come and were standing in line -- they are the cutest and it is a joy to just talk to them -- a simple lady with a little baby in her hand came and started chatting with me. She was telling me she had 4 kids - one she was holding and two more who were maybe (4 or 5) standing near her and another older child. She said "Even though we were the first house next to the sea, we escaped." I was happy to hear that and asked "Really, all of you. That's really a blessing isn't it?" She said "Yes, it is. I was making dosais (pancakes) and these children were sitting near by eating them. Then we heard a big noise." {Apparently, even before the waves rose, lots and lots of crows went up in the air and started making a huge noise and running to the shore.} She said, "Hearing the noise, we ran and somehow escaped." She paused and looked at me, meaningfully, "We believe in Shakti amma (Divine Mother) and when something like this happens, we call out to Shakti Amma, right?" (She said it in a tone like, "Hey, when it rains, you take out your umbrella, right?") ..."So", she continued, "I called out "Shakti Amma kaapaatu" ("Divine Mother save us") and we all escaped." I nodded, smiled and marvelled at her faith and Divine Mother's Love. I pray to Mother - Bless us all with unending remembrance of Your Protection, Your Love and unflinching faith in Your Presence. Jai Maa! Jai Maa! Jai Maa! yours lovingly, ramya
