Guest guest
Dear Nanda, Jai Maa! Thank you for your thoughful questions. I have these too. Which means I do not know the answers. But still, I would like to share. a. I chant in the evening a lttle after sunset. My mind is coloured by what I think through the day. As Swami Rama says, the conscious mind comes out first. These are the thoughts that the Divine Mother has to battle with. If we change what we think about during the day and make it more connected with Devi, sadhana will be less boring. b. Keeping the Ishta's picture in front of you, reading about Him/Her or listening to their words, thinking about them, creates the Bhava before the sadhana. I spend 5-10 minutes doing this. c. Initially, I started with just the book. Next I added a cup of water, a lamp, some incense, the yantra, flowers if available. Now, the Kushandika becomes very interesting. I sweep the worship area before I start. I think, what if the Divine Mother comes. I make some space for Her so that She can walk around me. Remember Swamiji said, She circumambulates you when you chant the Chandi. Before I start, I do Surya Namaskara up on the terrace, watch the glorious sun setting down. I Remember the sun is one of Her eyes. The sky is Her head. I feel some peace as I approach the evening sadhana. I have learned that doing the same sadhana at the same time creates peace. Hope I can keep going. I worry about how long I can keep going. I start to think about how I can make sure I can. Main thing is to become Her child. My humble pranams to our beloved Maa and Swamiji who provide us so much inspiration! I thank you deeply for your kind help in moderating this group. Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji! srini
Guest guest
Dear Srini, Your description of your preparations and sadhana are so sweet. You are creating the bhava of invitation and welcome for your Beloved. Jai Maa! Ardis 1/23/05 10:29 PM, ammasmkd at r_srinivasan (AT) ettimadai (DOT) amrita.edu wrote: Dear Nanda, Jai Maa!
