After reading people's wonderful posts on Nanda's question about the 3 types of sadhana, I began to substitute in my mind the word, "retreat" everytime I read "bootcamp." If I think about it, the gurus I have spent time with do short public programs (usually for beginners) and also often offer longer retreats where they more intensively help people focus on the goal and the actions. I will never forget the retreat I attended where I last saw Shree Maa and Swamiji. It was several days long, and, even though I could not participate in everything due to my illness, what I was able to participate in was wonderful and inspiring. So I guess I would substitue "retreat" for "bootcamp" and think of it as something one does with the direct presence of one's guru.
