One day we were having class in the temple. It was a large group all

sitting in a circle. Suddenly Swamiji said "can you believe that some

people say 'Good Morning, America' before they say Good Morning to God?

people of Guyana. The water has begin to drop but the situation still

contiues to be bad. Please look at the link for updated pictures.

An open question The year 2004 ended with the great disater of the

tsunami, seems there are alot of problems worldwide. Lots of snow and

bad weather in New York, flooding, soldiers being killed, children

stabbed to death and the list goes on. What is this world coming to?

Is there any releif in sight. How can we cope?

Dear Dolly,

I am so glad you asked what a yoni tree is!

There is a very large tree on the ashram grounds, near where the

outdoor Shiva temple now stands. The trunk of this tree is very

thick. It has a large yoni-like opening in one side. Within this

opening is a cavernous space in which water can collect. Shree Maa

told me that even in the dry season the water remains and serves as a

life-giving source for small animals and birds. So She named it the

Yoni Tree, a blessing tree. The devotees offer flowers and decorate

it from time to time. It marks a very special spot near Napeshwara

and facing the holy Lingam.

I'd like to add that during the lat spring, summer, and early winter

months it does not rain in Napa. Typically it does not rain for 9 months

of the year.

The Yoni tree always has a pool of water in its trunk, even late in the

dry season, long after all the streams had dried up.

I've heard that yoni-like marks appear in trees as a sign of auspiciousness,

especially near temples or jplaces where Divine Mother is worshipped. It is a

sign of Devi's blessing for that area.
