Guest guest
Dear All, Again my thanks to you for your thoughtful responses . I agree that each person's spiritual path is extremely personal and there is no one "right" answer. So in this sense all are right responses. And maybe this is the reason Maa advised me a long time ago , she told me to write what is right for me . "I think that I should do ..etc" as opposed "You should do ..etc" So from this perspective, while I respect each person's response, I closely to the thoughts of some of the members that feel that there will be a change in the personality corresponding to spiritual growth. I believe I am attracted to those Gurus and saints and people that have a compassionate disposition. I believe that one of the signs of someone spiritually advanced is to treat another person decently . I believe that these are tangible signs of a spiritually advanced person - tolerance , emotional maturity , a nature to serve and the inability to hurt any person in thought/word or deed. I am sure there are a lot more... I also believe that while not everybody that possesses these qualities is spiritually advanced, a spiritually advanced person will have these qualities. I believe the qualities are natural by products of sadhana. I believe that on our path to becoming Sadhus we will naturally become efficient (the definition of a sadhu) , we will learn to discriminate (the wise one - definition of a Rishi) . I believe that sadhana done in front of one's altar is meaningful only in the context of the peace and joy that it gives me to deal with ordinary life. I believe that when I do my job at work and have done it efficiently because it is my way of telling God "what a privilege that I am gainfully employed today" , then that is the result of sadhana in action. I believe that is the way I measure myself - as one person put it - have my interactions with others been an expression of the love that sadhana gives me ? Thank you dear all, for your input and discussion. Jai Maa Nanda
