Guest guest
Shree Maa is one of the remarkable, contemporary women saints of India. She first came to my attention when a TM Vedic astrologer (a jyotishi) suggested that I might benefit from a connection to one of the women saints. He rattled off a list of names. I wasn't familiar with any of them. Shree Maa was one, and the astrologer mentioned Swamiji. He said Swamiji was a Westerner but that he was a bona fide swami--"the real deal." I did some research on the saints on the Internet, and I came across the book Daughters of the Goddess by Linda Johnsen which is about six current women saints of India. After reading that book, Shree Maa was the one that hit home with me. But I think Swamiji being a Westerner had a lot to do with the attraction.
