Guest guest
RE: If you or anyone else has any specific ideas or tools (other than the obvious ones of meditation, japa, chanting, etc.) for, when one is just going about one's everyday life, how to do this seeing of everything as Divine, I would love to hear them. Jai Maa ~ Linda Dear Linda... This reminded me of something I read recently in Yoga Journal. Phillip Moffet (a meditation teacher) wrote an article about the difference between living in a world of expectations and a world of possibilities. He said something to the effect that when we are experiencing states of suffering we are living in expectation and cut ourselves off from many possible solutions. If, on the other hand we stay in possibility we find ourselves open to all sorts of possibility. I've been trying to remind myself of this whenever I find myself feeling upset or disconnected from others. It's been interesting to note how my attachment to certain expectations of future events shifts when I ask myself if my issues are due to my expecting some specific outcome. If I remind myself that I can live in the world of possibility, and view my circumstances as opportunities for expansion and self - growth; I can begin to let go of my attachment to outcome. I then find that my life contains much more santosha (contentment). The other thing I do is keep telling myself "God is Here" whenever I can think of it. No matter what it is -God is Here... In a sunset - God is Here, when I'm singing - God is Here, when the tsunami happened - God is Here, everywhere I am, each breath I take, all the time. And if God is always here as me, She is also here just as completely as every other part of creation... and who could stay separate from that!
