Guest guest
Dear All, You have heard the term "brain storming" .. well here is "heart storming" - a group of people getting together and sharing their hearts . One of the senior disciples of Shree Maa and Swamiji is doing a very loving project - Shree Maa Sahasranam. - ie writing the 1000 names of Shree Maa. Here is where you as the heartstormer steps in - based on your relationship to Shree Maa - if you had to give Her name (or names) what would it be ? What quality would it be based on ? What is the special bond between you and her ? You are welcome to come up with the names in either English (or if you can in Sanskrit) and share them on the group. The disciple will gather all the suggestions and use what he can to write this anthology. Here are some examples from me ... for starters 1) the mother that resides in my heart (hrdayanivasini) 2) the mother who is known only through sadhana 3) the lady with the gentle smile ..... Pour your hearts out dear satsang family. Jai Maa Nanda

Guest guest
this is such a beautiful project-- the first name that comes to mind is, "She Whose Loving Glance Saves the Soul." I won't even try to do that in Sanskrit, though I'm pretty sure there's a "technical term" for the glance of the guru... I haven't read through all the responses yet, (impatient me), so I hope these aren't duplicates. These are adapted (rather freely) from _Before Becoming This_ She whose eyes are translucent, like the clear, unclouded sky. She whose eyes contain the infinity of the ocean. Both Steven Newmark and Linda Johnsen comment on how Shree Maa at first seemed "almost invisible." I haven't quite figured out how to word that one. I'll think about it.
