Our calender here says that Amavasya is on Tuesday. On page 106 of

Kali Puja book, it says,

bhaumavasyanisabbhage mapancakasamanvita

pujayitva mahakalimadyam tribhuvanesvarim

Whoever will worship on the Tuesday night of the New Moon, offering

the five principles to the Great Foremost She Who Takes Away the

Darkness, the Supreme Goddess of the Three Worlds,

pathitva satanamani saksat kalimayo bhavet

nasadhyam vidyate tasya trisu lokesu kincana

and recite these hundred names, actually becomes the manifestation

of She Who Takes Away the Darkness, and knows no obstacles from anywhere in

the three worlds.

I am SOOO excited and happy -- We can pray to our beautiful Blue

Kali of Devi Mandir tomorrow and She will come and be with us!! Isn't She the

Queen of Compassion to tell us the way and arrange Amavasya on a

tuesday too?

Jai MAA! Jai SWAMIJI!!! Jai KALI!!! Om Hrim Shrim Krim Parameswari

Kalike Swaaha!!

Kali Sharanam!

Dear Nanda

Is Tuesdayy evening also good for recitation of 100 names of Durga? As

in Cosmic Puja book?

"Bhaumavyas nishamagre chandre shatbhisham gate likhitwa prapateth

strotram sa bhawet sampadaa padam"

is Tuesday an evening before the new moon and is the star in shatbisha

nakstra?

Jai Mata Ji

Namaste Jay,

Thanks for the reminder from the 108 names of Durga.

This tuesday is Amavasya (new moon day) and its star is Shravana ,

not Satabhisha. Wouldnt it be cool if it had been satabhisa so that

we could get all the promised fruits on that day.

For those that would like to know how to find the star on a

particular day, I would recommend googling on "panchang" , visit one

of the many websites , and enter the date for the day that you would

like to know the star/lunar information.

I think 9th March is Satbisha? And does the day fall in the criteria to

recite 108 Durga Maa names?

Kind regards
