Guest guest
Dear All, Thanks to your participation, together we have discovered 210 names that we can give our mother. I have uploaded a file with the compilations and the name-donor. Please check Shree Maa Sahasranam.xls at Other%20Texts/ Good job ! Now we need 798 more ! Whew , those rishis of old had quite a job to do. Did you know that the Gayatri Sahasranam (available in the bookstore http://www.shreemaa.org/bookstore.htm) is written in ALPHABETICAL order (sanskrit) , in perfect cadence - 32 syllables to the verse and of course contains 1008 names. Is that creative or what ? Just thinking up of names AND then alphabetising it AND then putting the rhythm AND .... It requires a GREAT deal of love. It is certainly a labor of love. Jai Maa all you lovers of the Divine ! Nanda
Guest guest
Dear All, It just struck me ! Usually (expectant) mothers have the joy of picking out the name for the baby. Here the baby(ies) are picking out the names for the Mother. What sweet irony and joy! Jai Maa Nanda
Guest guest
I guess I missed this great post and joyful seva. I shall compile some as well. Is it best to ascribe the "donor's" name though? I feel it kind of takes away from it and may make those that only come up with a few feel bad. Just my thoughts.
