Guest guest
Found on the web. My thanks to the unknown author. Jai Maa NAnda ================================= "When you stop wanting things, then you will know happiness," the Master was known to say. Hearing this, several disciples took up asceticism and would deny themselves all sorts of worldly pleasures. When they told the Master of their practices he laughed and told the following story: "Imagine someone brings you a gift, and that gift is a brand new doll, the nicest new doll available. While there was a time in your life you would have wanted such a gift, that time has since past. You would look at the doll and say to your presenter, 'This is a very nice gift, but I am not in need of it, perhaps you know a child who would enjoy it much more than I.'" "Now imagine that same person gives you another gift. But instead of a doll the gift is a suitcase filled with one million dollars." The Master concluded, "Happiness comes when you feel the same way about the gift of a million dollars as you did about the doll." ==========================================
Guest guest
Interesting one Nanda for still having to survive on the material plain makes money essential for food and rent. My mind is busy with numerous justifications so I suppose the target has been hit. Guest guest
A million dollars is a huge temptation. I wonder how many ascetics would refuse a million dollars. I think our prayers should include "Lead us not unto temptations". Jai MAA !!! , "Nanda" <chandimaakijai> wrote: > > > Found on the web.
