Dear All,

As you may know , this is the lunar month of Magh.(has been for the

last few days)

And that means

* The month culminates in Maha Shivaratri - Mar 8th night 9 daytime

* The focus is on the worship of Shiva at the Mandir.

* Shree Maa takes a sankalpa to make 108 small Shiva lingams each

day.

* and RUDRASHTADHYAYI.

Now Rudrashtadhyayi or Rudri as it is known in the Mandir circles ,

is 8 chapters in the worship of Lord Shiva aka Rudra - he who

removes tears.

The fifth chapter of the Rudri is known as the Namakam and the

eighth chapter is known as the Chamakam.

This is a VERY empowering text and one of my personal favorites

(next only to the Chandi).

Shree Maa has asked us ( a group that worships at the Mandir) to

chant this as a group at the fire on Sundays.

I hope that all us Shiva-lovers out there can take this opportunity

to give him some more TLC this month.

Jai Shiva !

Stevie,

I have seen Maa fashion it in two steps - she takes two small lumps

of dough and rolls them into 2 bars . One about twice as long as the

other.

The smaller bar stands as the vertical lingam and the longer piece

is wrapped horizontally around the vertical piece roughly around the

middle . So the bit above the horizontal 'bar' is the the lingam and

the piece below serves as the base. And the horizontally wrapped bar

is the yoni.

Hope the description helped give you an idea.
