Querida Kalachandra,

Sure , let me explain.

This year Shivaratri is on Mar 8th. We do four pujas for Shivaratri, and each

time there is one different offering. First puja - we offer milk. Second puja -

we offer yoghurt. Third puja - we offer ghee. Fourth puja - we offer honey.

The first puja will happen at 5 o'clock in the evening on March 8th.

The second puja will happen at 10 o'clock in the evening/night on

March 8th.

The third puja will happen at 1 o'clock in the early morning (just 1

hour after midnight ) on March 9th.

The fourth puja will happen at 3 o'clock in the early morning on

March 9th.

Mangala arati will be performed at 4 o'clock in the early morning on

March 9th.

This will complete the normal Shivaratri pujas.

Our usual daily pujas will start at 5 in the morning on March 9th.

Hope this helps. Please let me know of any questions.

Namaste

No, on Shivaratri we offer each item seprately. As it has been in the past, each

person

offers just milk for the first Puja, Second Yoghurt, etc. If there is multiple

people each offer

each item in there time (times as below).

Yes, both honey and Ghee need to be in a pourable state, as they need to be

offered over

the Shiva Lingam, as well

Namaste All,

Though a bit late here's hoping that all had a

beautiful Shivatri.

I did both sankalpas ending at about 3:15 a.m. (11:15

p.m. CA). Having had a very bad bout of the flu, the

voice was terrible not to mention the cough but with

Gurujis help the goal was achieved. In between

sankalpas, I listended to Maa singing Shiva is in my

heart and reflected on previous Shivatris at the

Mandir.

I would have given anything though to see Maa as she

sang Bole Bom Bom to feel the strength of Her being,

Her peace, which pervades the Mandir.

I love you Mother.

Om Namah Shiviyai.

Kaliananda
