Guest guest Posted February 22, 2005 Report Share Posted February 22, 2005 One year I was blessed with being present at the Devi Mandir on Sri Ramakrishna's birthday. I entered the temple and I saw for the first time the large portrait of the Master, garlanded with flowers. I was overwhelmed with His Beauty, breathless and speechless. I fell down before Him. Then I offered him an apple. I found out later that Shree Maa kept this murti in her room. Considering how small her quarters in the small trailer were, Ramakrishna must have been very present. Later in the day, Swamiji offered a puja to Sri Ramakrishna and homa at the fire. Then he led us in a rousing offering of Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday Dear Ramakrishna, Happy Birthday to You. (I was quite surprised by this American song to our Eternal Master.) So today I am at my home temple. I will try to offer Sri Ramakrishna my joyous birthday wishes with all the fullness and love of Swamiji and Shree Maa and the Devi Mandir Family.
