Guest guest
Lets pretend that God asked you that question. What would be your reply? Here's mine. I'm small, you're beyond small. I'm trapped in a body, you are beyond all bodies. I sense this creation around me, you are beyond senses and creation. Now, lets pretend that you asked me that question. Here's my reply. You have different experiences. You have different perspective. You have different qualities. You have different beliefs. We know God is beyond experience, perspective, quality and belief because that is what She tells us She is. This is what all the scriptures say about Her. Which means that God is the same for you as for me. Beyond everything means she's the same for both of us. So God is the one unifying principal. The one commonality between you and me. God is something we both share in exactly the same way. So we may have a herd of differences between us and between ourselves and God, but the one thing we have in common is God herself. God is the unifying principal that exists beyond all differences. So what is the difference between one saint and another? If each is an expression of God, each strives for the ideal that exists beyond all qualitites, then what is the difference? The duality of reality is that everything has qualities which it emanates. Each quality is built on some other quality all the way down to the sub-atomic level where everything becomes more or less nearly random in quality. It is consciousness herself that keeps that randomness orderly and projects the desired qualities. A saint is a person who moves beyond those qualities, rises above them and yet manages to keep a foot in the door of reality, so She can interact with us. Since She has a foot in the door of reality, She must have qualities, because qualities exist in reality. Even though She is beyond quality She has qualities while here and we perceive them even if they are not real. As good devotees it is our responsibility to look beyond the qualities to see She who is beyond all qualities. Awareness enables us to see the qualities in great detail. In fact the more aware we become the more detail we can see. That's how she tests us. She says, "Know me? Then know reality." She constantly tests us by trying to distract us with these quailties. We must persist. As good devotees we must look beyond the qualities to perceive Her as she really is. What is the difference between you and me? There is only difference in reality.
