Here is something that I read today from "Ramakrishna: The Nectar of

Eternal Bliss" by Swamiji. The book is available at

In page 242, Sri Ramakrishna says and Swamiji translates ...

".... God is not just pure existence. He will come near you and talk

to you , just as I am talking to you. Have faith and everything will

come to you. Another thing: if you believe that God is formless,

believe it with firmness. But do not be dogmatic. Never say that He

can be only this and not that. Say , "I believe he is formless and

that he can also be many things. He only knows what He is. I do not

know. I do not understand. Can the nature of God be understood by

the ounce of intelligence that man has ? Can a pot which holds two

quarts of milk contain a gallon ? Only if He reveals himself to his

devotee and makes him understand from His grace, then alone can one

know. Otherwise one cannot know."
