Guest guest
Awareness I want to be aware of my unity with my teachers and beloved ones. Our physical separation leads me to believe that I am alone. But this, I know, is an illusion. We are One. All One. There is no “alone”. Life is continuous; a web of vibrations; intricate and radiant; fueled by Love and bathed in Bliss and Peace. Sometimes I awaken from sleep and I am sitting at my teacher Maryangela’s kitchen table in 1960, eating rye toast, drinking tea and resting in the arms of the Divine Mother. At other times, I wake up and Swamiji is right there with me; sitting across the sacred fire and chanting with his whole being. Sometimes he is laughing at me because of my unfettered divine love and my intense desire to learn. And Maa is at his side, radiating the peace and bliss of non-attachment. Sometimes I forget that there is no death. I forget that my father, my Aunt Kate, my best friend Barbara, Suzuki Roshi, Maryangela, His Eminence and Father Andrew all live. Even Frank Lloyd Wright, Gandhi, Sri Ramakrishna and Martin Luther King, Jr.! Their true essence is imperishable. Their goodness, their love, their wisdom, their caring, their imagination and creativity are still vibrating; contributing to the Greater Good, to the Whole, to the All One. I am told by Hindu scriptures that there is no time or space. This is difficult to understand here on earth in the Kali Yuga, the age of darkness and duality. But in my waking moments, it seems true. The essential experiences of my life with my beloved teachers and loved ones are timeless and without place. They have become part of my core being that I can revisit with love.
