Guest guest
We are Divine Partners, Divine Lovers. We are inseparable, yet we feel separate. We are One and we are Many. We are the Avatar. From age to age when the forces of Dharma become weak, we take refuge in a body and return to the physical plane to fight the forces of division and to re-establish the standards of Truth, Love and Unity. We are bound together by our Love. We suffer a lot because of the perception of duality and separation which comes with a human body. Our sacrifice is great. Were we chosen to return to this realm or did we volunteer? The Buddhists say that the Bodhisattvas do it out of their infinite compassion for all sentient beings. The Bible makes it sound like Christ was only acting in obedience to Jehovah’s plan. Ramakrishna (an avatar of the 19th century) tells us “He who was Rama and Krishna is now in this body appearing as Ramakrishna.” One Hindu view is that there is only one Avatar but several or numerous incarnations; the Divine voluntarily returning to the physical plane to restore the Dharma. When I first heard about Bodhisattvas, I found it impossible to believe that any being could have enough compassion to keep on returning to this realm by choice until all sentient beings had been liberated from samsara. Krishna said that he returned for pure love’s sake. Om Attachment: (text/enriched) [not stored]
