Dear All,

I was chanting the Chandi at the Mandir this morning.

Shree Maa was chanting at the fire when I got in and

Swamiji was doing the Cosmic Puja. I settled in a

quiet corner and chanted softly so as not to disturb

them.

While I kept my attention on the chanting, a part of

me was very much aware of Swamiji and Maa. Swamiji

completing his puja, offering flowers to the other

deities around the hall, and leaving. Maa coming to

the end of her chanting.

I was in the middle of chapter 12 when I realized

that Maa was sweeping around the area where She had

done her homa. My mouth continue to chant but my mind

was evaluating the option - "Should I get up and clean

or continue chanting".

My body didnt wait to hear my mind's answer.

Almost on auto-pilot, I finished that chapter that I

was chanting ( chapter 12) , got up from my asan and

walked to Maa and offered to clean up. Maa looked

amused but she said "No you are chanting , dont break.

No No"

I insisted and said that I would go back and finish

up.

Maa smiled one of her sweet sweet smiles and said "No

this is MY karma. You go and finish the chanting"

Defeated in my cause, but exhilarated by her smile I

went back to my asan.

Maa said "Thank you"

The rest of the Chandi flew by as if in a dream.

Maa , thank you for setting the example. I bow to She

who is the Divine Example.

Jai Maa
