Guest guest
Question from Christine: Swamiji , can you please suggest a daily practice that I could do as a beginner -- and as someone new to Hinduism and to Maa? Please also keep in mind that I feel I have two Satgurus (Maa and Amma). Thank you! Swamiji's response: Beginner's Shiva Puja. Nanda's footnote : This is the month of Magh - auspicious for Lord Shiva. Also, this month culminates in Maha Shivaratri. I believe this is a wonderful opportunity for us to learn or resume our Shiva puja. Jai Shiva.

Corn-fused I mean ,and feel free to ask questions. Generally it would be better if we had a set of separate puja utensils. But it doesnt have to be fancy, any simple set of dishes would do. At the Mandir, we follow the rules of jhuta or purity and are particular that we dont use the puja utensils in our day-to-day kitchen use. It is just a way of demonstrating our respect to the deity by keeping the containers used to offer for Him/Her as clean and pure as possible. I suppose the only yardstick is "offer with the greatest respect possible under each person's specific circumstances" and we can all define for ourselves what the best is at that time. I am also reminded of the story of Swamiji, where he offered leaves and stones to the deity when he did not have flowers.. Now his flower arrangement in the Cosmic altar is a marvellous expression of his creativity and love and artistry. When he didnt have , he made do. When he can, he excels in demonstrating his love by doing everything just perfect. Hope this helps Jai Maa NAnda

Guest guest
perfectly well said, nanda. i think maybe i could get a little set of plates etc., and set aside for puja. good idea. elana is excited we are doing the puja [she rings the bell at shanti] again and i told amy we will be doing it every day. seems like we have a green light at elana rose mandir. steve , "Nanda" <chandimaakijai> wrote: > > > > here is one: i always got stuck on this. the container for the > > offerings is supposed to be new {right?) ... but i could never > >find a > > new container in the house. > > > > ??what to do?? > > > > signed, > > corn-fused in idaho > > > > > Dear Corn-fused, > > Dont be !
