Guest guest
Here's an audio of the chant: http://www.shreemaa.org/tryambakam.htm And here are bunch of pronunciation guides. They refer to different styles of transliterated Sanskrit, hence the references to the diacritical marks. Get what you can out of them, and don't worry too much about it, I'd say. http://www.shambhala.com/html/learn/features/yoga/sutras/pronounce-2.cfm http://www.shambhala.com/html/learn/features/yoga/sutras/pronounce-2.cfm http://www.selfdiscoveryportal.com/cmSanskritPron.htm http://www.sanskrit.org/Sanskrit/Sanskritpronunication.pdf These guides don't generally address syllabic stress; here's what Devadatta Kali has to say about syllabic stress [from the pronunciation guide in his _In Praise of the Goddess_]: "The accentation of syllables in Sanskrit is weaker than in English. The stress falls on the penultimate (next to last) syllable when that syllable contains a long vowel, a diphthong (e, ai, o, au), or a short vowel followed by two or more consonants. Otherwise, the stress falls on the antepenultimate, or preceding syllable." , "Michael Doughty" <woebegone01> wrote: > > [....] I could sure use some help with the sanskrit pronunciation. > Can someone help me?
