Guest guest
devotees: i have a fortunate situation, in that i have 2 original copies of the shiva puja on cd-rom. this has swamiji satyananda saraswati reciting patiently and devoutly the entire beginner's shiva puja book. shree maa is intoning om namah shivaya along with him. there is an instrument playing, i am not sure if this is maa or what the name of the instrument is. if anyone wants me to send it to them, to advance their sadhana, i will mail it. e-mail me at sconnor. steve c. Guest guest
Namaste, Steve ji! What a very sweet and thoughful offer you have made! i have the Cd and it is very wonderful; i love Shree Maa's chanting of 'Om Namah Shivaya' softly in the background. The stringed instrument She is playing is called a 'Tamboura'. [sometimes spelled as 'Tanpura' or Tambura]. It is a wonderful 4-5 string drone instrument. The strings are continuously plucked while chanting or singing bhajans. The nice thing about a tamboura is, that you don't have to play chords or melodies, so you can really let yourself become absorbed in the chanting. i am blessed to have one, and have found it a great enhancement to my bhajan singing. Harmoniums are wonderful, also, but i find i have to concentrate more and can't as easily 'let myself go'. Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji! Jai Ramakrishna Deva! muktimaa , "Steve Connor" <sconnor@a...> wrote: > > > devotees: > > i have a fortunate situation, in that i have 2 original copies of the > shiva puja on cd-rom. > > this has swamiji satyananda saraswati reciting patiently and devoutly > the entire beginner's shiva puja book. shree maa is intoning om namah > shivaya along with him. there is an instrument playing, i am not sure > if this is maa or what the name of the instrument is. > > if anyone wants me to send it to them, to advance their sadhana, i > will mail it. e-mail me at sconnor@a... > > steve c.
