Dear Nanda ~ this was an answer to a prayer for me. I just received a letter from a woman (Amma devotee) who was obviously wracked with pain and despair over feeling torn between the world and the ashram. (She has two children, so the ashram doesn't seem like a possibility for her.) She was begging for answers on how to reconcile these two, to her, seemingly polar opposites, and it was obvious that she is suffering a great deal. Now I can send her Swami's response (I copied the question also, so she could se both). I am hoping this will bring her some solace and understanding that she can balance the spiritual and the worldly. Guest guest
Dear Nanda ~ in yesterday's digest, you said you were taking no more questions for the interview with Swamiji. I have a question. If it is too late to be included in the interview, then let it be a regualr digest Q & A. Dear Swamiji, I have been very stuck by Chapter 5 of the Chandi Path. What I would like to know is if it is okay to take one chapter, such as this one, and make it a regular practice (not instead of, for example, chanting the entire Chandi, but in addition to, or sometimes, instead of)? This chapter touched me very deeply as it states all that the Goddess is, including things that may make us uncomfortable, such as Confusion and Hunger, as well as things in which we would take delight, such as Energy, Patient Forgiveness, and Peace. Thank you for your patient regard of our questions. Pranams ~ Linda in NM
Guest guest
Dear Linda, thank you for asking this question. The same thing has been going through my mind, but I could not find the right words.
