Guest guest
Question from Grace: Why do we tie the string around our wrist in the opening mantras of the chandi . Why and for how long do we keep the string on and what is its significance? Swamiji's response: The string means that our hand is bound by dharma. Every action that hand performs is consecrated to the Goddess. We wear it until it falls off of its own accord. Nanda's footnote : The string is tied on the left hand if the wearer is female, the right hand if the wearer is male. There is also a q&A on this in the FAQ on the website.
