I was cotnemplating Sri Ramakrishna and his statement that he who was Rama and he who was Krishna is now in this form (meaning himself). I have seen how Shiva worships Rama and Rama worships Shiva in the Ramayana. Krishna also worships Shiva and Shiva takes the form of a mendicant so that he can see the child Krishna. There was no mention of the worship of the Mother in these stories. Sri Ramakrishna was however stauch devotee of the Divine Mother. In him Shaivites, Vashnavaites, and Shaktas all come together. He brings that part of the bridge. This is also reflected in the Dakshieswar temple compound where he was a pujari: there are temples to Kali, Shiva and Radha Krishna.
