Guest guest
Dear Bandhus, I am posting this message on behalf of a friend of mine who is undergoing mental torture and harassment from his newly wedded wife & in-laws. He is in so much of pain with his wife torturing him from india without having joined him here that he is unable to bear the pain. Is there any remedy thru mantras for this kind of affliction of life? Thanks Sana
Guest guest
Physical pain is experienced when we are physically injured. In a similar vein we experience mental and emotional pain when we are mentally or emotionally injured. Once injured, the pain is certain. What does the pain do? Physical pain tells our body where to send healing energy, where to send red and white blood cells to heal and protect the wound. Mental / emotional pain has similar properties. It tells us where to focus love within ourselves to heal the mental / emotional wound. Despite the bad rap that pain has right today, I know that pain is not a bad thing. It is in fact proof positive that we have been hurt and are healing. It is only our reaction to pain that can be bad for us. Many people run from pain the way they run from Goddess. The bury their heads in drugs, alcohol, desire, food, money, etc etc etc. This is not a healthy reaction to pain. I know that stopping the pain is not the goal, sidestepping the pain with distractions just slows the healing process. The pain will stop when the healing is done. So what is the true goal? The true goal is to stop labeling the pain as bad. To stop feeling that the pain is wrong or unnecessary. It is our minds that label the pain as negative, and it is our mind who time and time again proves to be our biggest enemy, the enemy of consciousness. Our goal should be to surrender to the pain, to let it wash over us like waves in the ocean. The pain may kill us, but if that is the case, then it is necessary for our soul's healing. Who are we to judge the pain that Mother Herself has brought upon us? After all, is it the body / mind or the soul that suffers? Obviously its the body and mind, because they are impermanent. The soul is eternal and therefore cannot suffer because it knows it will never cease to be. The mind equates pain with death and thus fears it as it fears death. For the true identity, for the soul there is no death and thus no fear, therefore no labeling of pain as bad. I empathize with your friend in very many ways. I know from experience that this pain is temporary and if respected as the healing mechanism that it is will bring about a wonderful healing within his being. Please tell him that it is my advice to accept the pain and live with it, to be who he is, exemplify his qualities of God despite the pain. If he wants help with the pain, the mantra of healing is: TRAYAMBAKAM YAJAMAHE SUGANDHIM PUSTIVARDDHANAM URVARUKAMIVA BANDHANAN MRTYORMUKSHIYA MAMRTAT or he can pray directly to Maa: OM AIM HRIM KLIM CHAMUNDAYE VICHE NAMAHA The second mantra is useful for taming a wild, non-surrendered mind. > > > Dear Bandhus, > > I am posting this message on behalf of a friend of mine who is > undergoing mental torture and harassment from his newly wedded wife > & in-laws. Guest guest
Wow Brian, This is a simply beautiful explanation. Thank you. There is another Mantra which I would like to suggest, it is found in Chapter 11 vs 25 of the Chandi - "etatte vadanam saumyam locana tryabusitam patu nah savabhitibhyah katyayani namo-stu te" (Translation) May this beautiful face, displaying three eyes, protect us from all existence. Ever Pure One, we bow to you.
