Guest guest
Question from Steve: Is the best course of action for those who arrive with "Bad Guru” history ... give a better example, and accumulate no bad karma speaking ill of others? Redirecting the mind to God, no matter the past? Swamiji's response: Yes. Nanda's footnote : Dear Michael, This Q&A between Swamiji and Steve comes in good time - just as you asked the question on Gurus. Yes, choosing a Guru is one that requires a lot discrimination. We are constantly evaluating the Guru just as the Guru is constantly evaluating us - Are we reliable ? Do we show consistency to approach ? And most of all , are we sincere ? As I have read , there are many Gurus but a true disciple is rare. Also, again I am told , emphatically, that when the disciple is ready, the Guru WILL appear. So my response to your question is - yes while I discriminate as to who "my" Guru is going to be, let me prepare to be the perfect disciple. And I believe there is where the work really lies ! Namaste Nanda, It worked for me and this is the wonder. "This is a beautiful world. Everything is so ordered to suit the needs of the past and the future of everyone." Guest guest
I'm sure that my friend's "GURU" thinks my friend is "The perfect disciple". She no doubt laughs all the way to the Swiss bank. She siphons off her energy, her labor, her money, her time, and her ability to think rationally and gives nothing but contemt in return. She accepts the credit for anything positive in my friends life but tells her that anything negative in her life is just because she is not "Holy Enough". The solution to this is always to pay the guru another $400.00 and attend another program. My friend's sincerity and trust are being exploited and it is a very sad thing to witness. I'm wondering why more authentic spiritual teachers are not taking a stand against this. Please pray with me that my friend will soon awaken.
