Guest guest
Here are the answers to your questions. Jai Chandi Maa Nanda Aravind says,” I will be performing our group Chandi chanting sankalpa as part of my normal Kali Puja. I was planning on chanting Chandi after the offerings and 100 Names of Kali. The preparatory verses for Kali Puja and Chandi, starting with "manmahaganadhipate namah" and ending with "om shantih shantih shantih," are effectively identical. The only differences are that the Kali mula mantra is replaced with Navarna mantra and the sankalpa is slightly different at the end. My plan was to chant the introductory verses at the beginning of my Kali Puja, adding "kali pujam ca chandi patham karishye" to the sankalpa. Then, when I have reached the Chandi chanting portion of the program, I would begin with Sapta Shloki Durga and proceed from there. Is this correct? (I hope this question is clear).” Nanda says, “Yes, this works fine and I would do something similar too. If you are doing your Kali Puja everyday, then you might want to add in – saying it in English is fine – “In addition to the Kali puja , I am doing these verses from the Chandi for today” Just a thought.” Aravind says,” In the Navarna Vidhi, rysadi nyasah, how does one indicate the various body parts? I'm assuming not by touching, since it includes the feet and anus. The same question, of course, would apply to the aksaranyasah.” Nanda says,” Keep your right hand in tattva mudra – ie touch the base of your ring finger with your thumb. And you can point to them, not actually touch the part of your body” Aravind says,” In the din nyasah, do we point in the various directions? With a particulart mudra?” Nanda says,”We put our hands in the Namaste position and swivel our wrists in the appropriate direction. I have also seen people just point with one hand (no particular mudra) in the various direction” Aravind says,” I'm quite excited about our group sankalpa.” Nanda says,”Great to know that you are excited Aravind. Me tooo!!!”
