Namaste my friends,

Day 2 was even better than Day 1. In addition to chanting Chapter 2

and Chapter 3 along with Swamiji and reading the English translation, I

studied Swamiji's book "Chandi Path: Study of Chapter 2."

The Study is so wonderful. It not only gives a word by word

translation and a synopsis of the verse, the book contains a very deep

lesson on the philosophy of the Chandi Path and how it applies to

modern life. I found it very inspiring.

Nanda, here's the report on my fast so far. Saturday and Sunday and up

to 5 pm on Monday went beautifully. Then my daughter surprised me by

showing up at my door. She wanted to take me out for dinner. They had

driven about an hour and a half from San Bernardino. I told her that I

was happy to see her, but I was fasting and did not want to go out for

dinner. Not only was she disappointed, she was upset. She said

"eating - yes. fasting - no." She is convinced that fasting is

unhealthy, especially for me. I ended up giving in and having dinner

with her. Afterwards I felt almost physically ill. I felt anything

but healthy. And of course there was the disappointment in myself that

I had not kept the fast.

Today I was back on my fast and feeling wonderful.

Despite the problem with the fast last night, this is the most

wonderful sankalpa I have ever taken. I am loving the Chandi Path more

and more each day.

Love and blessings to all,

Ardis
