Guest guest
Today's Parayana is comparatively light. It is the fourth chapter, which is mainly a prayer to MAA praising her. This prayer is one of the four important prayers in Devi Mahatmya. Please make sure that you recite the last stanza as loud as possible. Page 201 starting from "Sulena pahi no Devi--------tairasman raksa sarvatah. " The Dhyana Sloka is that of Maa Jaya Durga. Now that we have settled down the Parayana, we should prepare for tomorrow when we have four chapters.5, 6,7, & 8. I used to do Parayana in the morning when I was working. Now I do it in the night. We prefer to do even Pujas in the night so that we finish it when the clock strikes twelve. I am sure my neighbors would have been annoyed with the Bells ringing loudly at 12.00 A.M. Talking about Bells we are requesting MAA "Ghanta swanena pahi". (Protect us with the sound of your bell). These words are the genesis of my earlier message about the singing Bells. Please recite the Pranamah on page 422 when you have time. I love this. I recite the last stanza number of times every day. "Esanamataram Devim------------samsarnava tarinim" There are a number of individual prayers for MAA CHANDI. Chandika Hridayam Chandika Dalam Chandi Dhyanam (has a claim to be the Dhyana Sloka for Chandi path) These are individually very good. I am preparing a message about the role of the Ramakrishna Math in the popularization of Sri Sri Chandi. Hope by MAA's grace I can post it during the Navaratri. Jai MAA !!! I am a night puja and chanting person as well. Not only because I would probably wake up my three year old daughter by getting up at 4:00 AM, but also because I can take as much time as I want. It was through the order of Sri Ramakrishna that i first heard of the 'Devi Mahatmyam' [aka 'Chandi Path']. It didn't really come alive for me, though, until i got the Chandi Path translated by our beloved Swamiji. His translation [and transliterated Sanskrit] Woke up my latent love for the Chandi. His online Chandi Path classes were the icing on the Cake, and i have been in love with the Chandi Path ever since! Maa and Swamiji are so infectious in their enthusiasm! i never wish to be cured of this Divine Contagion! :<) Jai Chandi Shree Maa! Jai Shiva Swamiji! Jai Ramakrishna Deva! Guest guest
Do not worry. You cannot go wrong if your intention is good. This is all generated from the heart. So you cannot say a word wrong and bring down a curse or something like that. This is my interpretation, please check with Nanda. Swamiji has a book on pronunciation on their site book store. There is also a part in the Chandi on pronunciation, I think it is at the end of the book. steve , PadmanabhanDK <dkpad> wrote: > Pranams. > Pl help people like us who are not at good in pronouncing Samskrut words and bit scared that we may misspell the words.Plhelp us ho to get over such problems. > Thank you maa > Padmanabhan > > > > >
Guest guest
Padmanabhan, Steve is right about this. Swamiji teaches (and he's the expert, after all) that as long as our intentions are pure (spiritual not worldly) the mistakes we make while learning don't matter. The intent of your heart is what the divine sees. Chris , "Steve Connor" <sconnor@a...> wrote: > > > Do not worry. You cannot go wrong if your intention is good.
