Guest guest
This is day 3 of the sankalpa and all is well. I am enjoying the feeling of inner peace and tranquility and feeling more and more determined to be living truth, this is what seems to matter at this point. Since I do not chant the Chandi as often as I should there are still some areas where the rythym does not flow but the more the effort the easier it becomes. Also, I tried to include the sankalpa for reciting 108 times this year but am not sure that I did it correctly, Nanda Devi can you help me please. After "krtaitat" how do I say the Chapter(s) for the day along with the year's sankalpa? The atha durga dvatrimsannama mala is becoming my constant companion thanks to a Guru who has brought together a wonderful group of loving hearts. My love to each and everyone of you. Jai Chandi Maa! Guest guest
>>"Just think how wonderful it is to have people not just sympathize , but also to encourage you. As Ardis pointed out, she broke her fast due to certain circumstances, but she went right back at it. That is the spirit we are trying to cultivate - bouncing back up / springing back to action, however much you are pushed down. I know , as much as anyone that has taken a sankalpa and been unable to keep up - that what matters is the we take a moment to reassess ourselves - why did the sankalpa fail ? what could I do to be more prepared? What is my contingency plan ? For example, if I know that I am trying something ambitious for me and there are chances that I wont be able to keep up my word, is there a "default" sankalpa that I could do ? Can I listen to Chandi even if I am not able to chant it ? Or can I do 100 times of "Om Aim Hrim Klim Chamundaye Vicche" instead?"<< Dear Latha and group, I have always really loved the Buddhist approach to sankalpa..when you take your Boddhisattva Vows (to help free all sentient beings from suffering, etc.), you try and maintain them. Most people are not able to do that and it is expected that you will re-take your Boddhisattva vows, periodically, with the Lama who is your teacher. Each time is an opportunity to re-connect with your intention. There is never any judgement about the fact that you have "broken" your vows...just: try again, with compassion : for yourself as well as others. best love, sadhvi
