Guest guest
reading linda's story, len's post ... this is all so good. thanks to this group sankalpa we are able to overcome, or confront, obstacles. an opportunity to grow. when we heal or get better sometimes the pain gets worse for a while. swamiji calls this churning. what if i can't do anything, for example, i can barely move. human life is so limited. maybe i have only one hand. i can put a flower near an image of god. i think of the image of shiva. if i pass out, when i awake i can say, hello, i am a child of god. our devotion takes so many forms. it is primarily a gesture. everything we are doing here supports our devotion. the sankalpa is like the prow of the ship. it is the most extended, most advanced gesture. many good things appear in the ocean as our ship moves forward. not only to ourselves but to others as well. that's the fruit. any good gesture is rewarded, one way or another. the cumulative gestures over a span of time make up our devotional life. we move together in faith and faith itself is the reward.
