Guest guest
Verse 2 - Spiritual Commentary/Rendering Oh Mother, You are the very form of Dharma--supreme justice. You shower boons on those who worship You with a pure heart, but on those who threaten to destroy the worlds You have created, You shower arrows and missiles! According to Your divine order, all creatures receive the deserved rewards of their actions. Anyone who hurts another creature to the smallest degree must experience that same suffering themselves. But anyone who selflessly performs even the smallest favor for someone else is rewarded by You many times over. Your equal vision does not allow You to have any favorites or to bear the tiniest grudge towards anyone. It is our actions only, from the millions of births we have taken, which determine our fate. Those who treat You like an enemy by harming Your children experience Your trident as a painfully sharp weapon. But for those who take refuge in You alone, Your trident is a holy instrument guarding them and protecting them from all negativity. Mother, it is never Your desire to punish any of Your children, but by doing this You take them closer to salvation by dissolving all of their karmic bondages formed out of ignorance and egoism. Oh Mother, please grant me the strength to bear the fruits of all my karma with an even, dispassionate mind. Whatever experiences I have in this life, whether painful or pleasant, let me see them as Your divine prasadam, given to me for the highest good of my soul.
