Verse 3 Spiritual Commentary/Rendering

Oh Mother! You are the Supreme Mother for the millions of universes You have

created, but You are also my very own Mother constantly showering me with Your

affectionate love. Those arrogant demons who went against the natural order of

Your Creation were behaving in a truly despicable manner, causing agony to Your

innocent children. Though You see all beings as Your children, if one of Your

children is harming their brothers and sisters, You will act to discipline that

child.

Out of compassion You gave those demons the boon of so many chances to correct

themselves. Because they could not appreciate Your magnanimity and continued in

their vicious ways, as the last resort You were fored to take action, for it is

Your sacred and cherished duty to protect the worlds You have created. Mother,

You must protect me by never allowing any arrogance to enter my heart, for I

know that without Your grace nothing at all can ever be accomlished!

You have the most beautiful peaks of the Himalayas for Your home, but Your

favorite residence is in the pure hearts of Your true devotees. Those who have

contented, peaceful, forgiving hearts, and who see Your holy form shining in

all creatures are graced by Your presence. You love to play and sport in their

hearts, and You dance in their faces in the form of the sweetness of their

smiles and the divine light in their eyes. You guard those devotees as closely

as the eyelid guards and protects the eye.
