Guest guest
Namaste All, After accepting to lead the online class today, I traveled to work with the Guru Gita to re-read the verses (94-98) to be discussed today. On Thursday, while going over and making notes during the luncheon period, the verse "there is nothing more than the Guru, there is nothing more than the Guru, there is nothing more than the Guru", kept playing repeatedly in the mind. And I thought, this is so emphatic, what message is being conveyed here? I started to leaf through other books by Swamiji to find references to the Guru, but in so doing my mind drifted to a meeting sometime ago with Swamiji. I was visiting the Mandir and sought an appointment with Swamiji as there were a couple of things I wanted to ask about this Great Song. One morning in passing, Swamiji greeted me and I reminded Him of the appointment. He said “you better come now Kali” so I followed Him to the temple. Swamiji enquired whether I wanted to show Him what I had written or whether I wantedHim to explain. Knowing that the time was limited due to his sadhana schedule, I opted from the explanation. ...... Big mistake. Most of what He said did not sink in (or so I thought) I tried the best I could to scribble His words, but that did not work as I kept thinking Swamiji is looking directly in these eyes, am I being disrespectful fidgeting to scribble? Then I thought, I will remember, but that too did not happen. I was however grateful for the opportunity to have been in Swamiji’s presence. A senior disciple asked me thereafter if my questions were answered. But in sitting there on Thursday, that conversation, that explanation, seemed to fit these verses and all I could see then was Swamiji’s face with the sweetest smile one could wish for and there was Kali, parked under this shaded tree, laughing to tears and feeling so beautiful. I was with Guru and there was nothing or no one else. That evening I hurried home to my ‘ Mandir treasure box” to seek that bit of paper with those precious scribbles made months ago during and seconds after that chat with Swamiji, those scribbles were used as a base to research today classes. The research flowed so beautifully, it was if these words were kept and released at the appointed time. I pray that the rememberance, the research and the class as presented were acceptable to my Beloved Gurus. Jai Shree Maa! Jai Swami Satyananda Saraswati! Pranams. Kalia Tired of spam?
