Guest guest
Sri Mahishasura Mardini Stotram Spiritual Commentary/Rendering Verse 4 Oh Mother, when I see the violence and evil in the world, it sometimes seems that the forces of negativity are stronger than the forces of good. But I know that it is not possible for the dark forces to have any kind of ultimate victory, for You are the very source of invincible strength, valor, and courage. When You set out to destroy all vestiges of evil activity, Your face blazes with the fire of highest Truth, and Your body glows with the radiance of Dharma. You are the infinitely compassionate Mother who forgives all insults and assaults, whether intended or unintended, but when it is Your innocent children who are being hurt, Your brilliant fury cannot be contained. Those who torture cannot be allowed to continue, and You never tolerate evil in any form. Oh Mother, each soul is given the choice of whether to follow the divine path of Truth and holiness that You have illuminated, or to deviate from this path as so many demons have. Please take me by the hand and show me the way to always be loving and copassionate towards all beings. Let me never show anger or speak harsh or untrue words to anyone, and let me alwyas meditate on Your supreme inner beauty. Only if I have Your guidance can I tread steadily on the path of Truth and righteousness. Mother, there is no power that is greater than You! I pray to You to bless me so that I will always follow the holy path of prayer, meditation, compassion, and selfless service to this world.
