Guest guest
Guru Gita, Verse 99 By means of the path of the intuitive vision of the Guru, the mind should be made pure. The impermanent and other divisions should not be a bondage to the soul. Since I am reading "Sahib Sadhu," I feel I am actually experiencing the truth of this verse. My sense of being more connected to Swami grows with each chapter; I see how his intuitive vision of his first Guru, Amritanada, gave him complete trust of the Guru in any circumstance or whatever the Guru asked of him. I also believe that it is possible to have an intuitive vision of the Guru, where one experiences the truth of the Guru's Being inside one's own heart. But I believe there is a path to achieving this intuitive vision, and Swamiji has walked it himself. Once this true intuitive vision has occurred, which involves trust and surrender, the rest of the verse automatically follows. We would automatically realize that the impermanent and other divisions are not a bondage of any kind. In "Sahib Sadhu," one sees Swamiji gradually reaching this state, for when his guru said they would travel and told Swami not to bring anything, Swami's response was, not even credit cards. Amritananda said, "God will provide all we need." Then we see Swami achieving this state where he goes anywhere, faces anything (snakes, people who would attack him, etc.) and he has no attachment except to exemplify Love.
