Guest guest
Verse 105 "Oh Parvati, the Guru can protect (a disciple) even cursed by a muni, celestial being or even the Gods, and even saves him or her from the fear of time and death." To this Kalia, this verse says - A True Guru is not merely a guide or teacher; She/He is also the One who transforms a disciple’s life in her pursuit of Self-realisation. A guru is able to do this because he has identified his own consciousness with the pure consciousness of God. He therefore dwells at the deepest source point of reality; there is no ego, no pretension, no limitation to his expression of the highest truth. This pure truth is the Protector. An example of the Guru's protection is "the Vow of Worship for 16 Mondays" http://www.shreemaa.org/article24.htm Jai Guru ki Jai! Tired of spam? Guest guest
Dear Kalia, thank you for posting the verse and for your commentary. <A guru is able to do this because he has identified his own <consciousness with the pure consciousness of God. I feel you have helped me understand this better. An attempt to put this understanding into words with the use of the transmitter-receiver analogy: the guru is a transmitter radiating truth, and if the receiver is tuned into that 'highest frequency', all the stations sending out vibrations at lower frequencies that are harmful to that receiver will not be able to reach it. And, unlike ordinary receivers, this receiving station will become more and more receptive to truth in the process; the more you move the dial in the direction of the highest frequency, the louder the signal becomes and the easier it becomes to ignore interference. with love, Henny , Kali Kali <kaliananda_saraswati@y. ...> wrote: > > Verse 105 > > > > "Oh Parvati, the Guru can protect (a disciple) even cursed by a muni, celestial being or even the Gods, and even saves him or her from the fear of time and death." > > > > To this Kalia, this verse says - > > > > A True Guru is not merely a guide or teacher; She/He is also the One who transforms a disciple#8217;s life in her pursuit of Self-realisation. Guest guest
I simply love your explanation which is saying to me, when the soul is really ready (high frequency) to receive truth, and that signal (or desire) is transmitted we receive back a signal from the True Guru. This is also applicable in verse 102. We have all moved away from Gurus at one time or another because in our opinion he was moving “according to his own rythym” but in using the transmitter-receiver analogy maybe we received what was transmitted (low frequency) but the return was enough to make us realize hey, this is not really the signal which the soul longed for, there is no inner contentment here. That we are now in this place means that the soul is really thirsty for Truth. May our thirst be quenched. Jai Guruji.
