Do you know of the ancient song, "Lord of the Dance"? It is beautiful ... an old, perhaps Celtic shamanic song. When it was sung, the people attacted tree branches to their heads so they looked like stags, and they danced around. And I guess if Swamiji is the Lord of the Dance, then Shree Maa must be the Lady of the Dance. The one thing that always stands out in my mind from their VCR (now probably DVD), "Across the States with Shree Maa and Swamiji," is this. Shree Maa is speaking to a group of people; She smiles coyly and says, "you want samadhi or sing and dance?" And then there is a voice from the back that asks, "why not both?" There is a lot of dancing in that video. Jai Maa , Jai Swamiji ~ Linda
Guest guest
Linda, This is a secret...don't tell anyone. It's not something I talk about. I was there that night at Samadhi Yoga Center. They had a big sign with their name on the wall facing Shree Maa. So, after everybody getting settled, she looked up at the name and jokingly asked if we would like samadhi or to sing and dance. From my place near the wall I said "Samadhi," and the next day she gave it to me (though it was only bhava). I still remember Sakali Tomar Icha. It was as if she sang it for me. Jai Gurudeva! Jai Maa!
