Guest guest
Our sweet, hard working Nanda, she who shares such beautiful stores about the Gurus and the Devi Mandir got delayed for this evening’s satsangh at the Devi Mandir... So today I get to write about the joyful Mother’s Day celebration. Visualize this...all the Divine Mothers at the altar, shining bright in full splendor, inviting you to be One with them! Shree Maa, She who exemplifies all the beautiful qualities of the Divine Mother, full of love…and Swamiji at the fire, performing the sankalpa to chant the Kali Sahasranaam (yes, it was Amavasya today too)… It was quite an evening! Swamiji brings so much bhava and energy chanting Her Divine names, the vibrations stay with you long after completing her 1000 names! Follow that with the aarti. Both Maa and Swamiji playing the drums...could not be a more fun Mothers Day! At the end of the arti, Parvati, who is always prepared for every event, had made a beautiful flower garland of marigold flowers and along with another devotee offered it to Maa. Shree Maa had the garlands put on 2 beautiful little girls, 4 and 9 years old. The garlands were so long, that the 4 year old had to hold it up to walk! We sang the closing prayers, as we always do after Aarti, and waited patiently to get Mother’s and Swamiji’s blessings. That… my dear family is a tiny glimpse of the evening. Namaste. Guest guest
Namaste Rukmaniji, thank you very much for your lively description, giving us a glimpse of Mother's day celebrations at the Devi Mandir. It made me feel as if I was there for a moment, with love, Henny It , Rukmani Merani <rmerani@s...> wrote: > > Our sweet, hard working Nanda, she who shares such beautiful stores about the Gurus and the Devi Mandir got delayed for this evening's satsangh at the Devi Mandir... > > So today I get to write about the joyful Mother's Day celebration. > > > > Visualize this...all the Divine Mothers at the altar, shining bright in full splendor, inviting you to be One with them! > > > > Shree Maa, She who exemplifies all the beautiful qualities of the Divine Mother, full of love…and > > > > Swamiji at the fire, performing the sankalpa to chant the Kali Sahasranaam (yes, it was Amavasya today too)… > > > > It was quite an evening! Guest guest
Dear All, As Rukmani mentioned, I reached the Mandir late and missed out much of the celebrations (although it was a very quiet one this year). I did get in time for darshan though, and when I went upto Maa , told her - "Happy Mother's day Maa" And She said "Happy Mother's day to you today and EVERYDAY". For is it not the Divine Mother's day everyday ? I remember the Mother's day celebrations , two years ago. Maa was garlanded with one made of 108 marigold flowers. She asked us to go to Her - and She hugged each one tight - again I am always amazed at how much power She packs in her frail form, and gave us each a marigold from her garland, saying that it will protect us. I pressed the marigold in my Chandi book and when I came home kept it at my altar. When my mother visited, she in a cleaning zeal saw the by then dry flower and tossed it out. I mentioned this to Shree Maa and She said, "If it had been really important, you should have saved it in a good beautiful box for that purpose". Again, a seemingly obvious lesson, but a good practical reminder for me in so many levels . When something is important, preserve it in a valuable container. And as a corollary, keep the container (our bodies) in good condition, because of the value of the treasure (our souls) that lie within.... In a reminiscing mood on Mother's day Nanda , "henny_v_i" <HvI@S...> wrote: > Namaste Rukmaniji, > > thank you very much for your lively description, giving us a glimpse > of Mother's day celebrations at the Devi Mandir.
