Guest guest
Kali Kali posted Verse 108 of the Guru Gita: "Only those who perform selfless expressions of love for the Guru have understood the wisdom of the Vedas and Puranas. They have attained to sannyas (the establishment of truth within). Others are merely making a pretence (of renunciation)." Dear Kali Kali, and Nanda ~ for some reason, as soon as I read this, I remembered that I had promised to write a review of one of Swamiji's books on Amazon.com. I had asked Nanda for some Guru seva I could do, and this is what you (Nanda) suggested. Then it went into the back of my mind, and I forgot about it. So today, I went right away to Amazon and wrote my review. Kudos also to Chris who wrote a wonderful review of the Chandi. Now there are two. Thanks for the reminder. : ) In commenting on this verse, the one thing that stands out most of all to me is "perform selfless expressions of love for the Guru" and "renunciation" (and, of course the "establishment of truth within") In my personal experience today, I had to practice renunciation because I always read the digest first thing, and now I will have to wait until later today to finish it. I gave my time and what intelligence I am blessed with in order to write the review, which is more renunciation. I sincerely hope this aids the establishment of truth within. : ) Jai Swamiji ~ Linda
