I had been wanting to point out the meditation aspect of this verse. As

in so many other verses previous to this, we are enjoined tomeditate

upon the guru...Sometimes we are told to repeat the mantra of the

guru, orrepeat the name of the guru. Sometimes we are told to

worship.Sometimes we are told to serve. Sometimes we are told to

remember, with love and reverence. Sometimes we are told to

contemplate, sometimes intuit. Sometimes we are told to meditate...

Dear Chris ~ You had quite a lot to say, and all of it quite clear in

pointing out patterns and relationships within the Guru Gita, as well

as a stages of practice. What I want to ask you is what is the mantra

of the Guru? I remember once having one of the little cards, with a

picture of Shree Maa on the front and a Shree Maa mantra on the back.

Sadly, I have moved several times, and I cannot find the card. Do you

know the mantra for Shree Maa? And is there one for Swami? I am

meaning this aside from a personal mantra that the guru might give an

individual devotee. I will look forward to your response. Jai Maa ,

Jai Swamiji ~ Linda

Hi Linda,

Yeah, I just happen to have that...

Shree Maa Gayatri

Om sanaatani maayaa vidmahe jnaana prakaashaayai dhimahe tanno

shriimaam prachodayaat

Om we meditate upon the Eternal Measurement of Consciousness,

contemplate She who illuminates wisdom. May that Shree Maa grant us

increase.
