Dear All,

Linda's words above gave me an idea. We as a group have done so many

sankalpas, how about an experiment ?

The experiment would be to take ONE item from our altars - and clean it for all

we are worth. Just that ONE item - could be a photograph, or a utensil,

something that could bear some cleaning.

The idea is to completely focus on that one object and make it as spick and

span as possible. Singlemindedness. And if we do get distracted - chant a

mantra and get back to the task. The task is not time dependent -it is for as

long as it takes to make that object totally clean - could be 5 minutes or 1

hour

or more/less , but just to make it clean ...And we come back and write about it

(if we want) on the group ...

What say ? Are you in ?

Yes, Nanda, quite in. I have a soapstone feet murti

on my altar (the Guru's feet) that I apply sandalpaste

to (along with all my pictures) before my puja. It

has these little crevasses, and even though I wash it

every time before applying new sandal, sandalpaste

residue has built up. I kept thinking, "I need to

REALLY clean this." Now I will.

.... I must have a prodigious quantity of mind; it takes me as long as a

week sometimes to make it up.
