Guest guest
Berijoy asks: > what is the difference betwen the words 'aarti' and 'arati'? i see > these used in same context and sometimes simultaneously. Hiya Berijoy, Both spellings can be used and they refer to the same thing - dancing with joy in front of God. This term has also been used as proper noun - and it is infact the name of my niece You also asked : > also, i noticed something different in prayer sankalpa. we used to say > 'mangalarthat' (i think) and i have noticed it is now 'mangalartham.' > why is that? Yes maam, we were using mangalarthat before, then I checked with Swamiji during the taping of the Lom-Vilom style Mahamrityunjaya mantra for our prayer club (have you heard that ? It is really really good and is in our Files section). Anyway , Swamiji said the most appropriate Sanskrit ending in this case was "mangalartham" instead of "mangalarthat" and so we switched over... Good questions ... keep em coming lady. JAI BERIJOY Nanda
