Dear Berijoy, A side track .. hopefully illustrating my point ... I was raised in conservative India where public displays of love especially between people of the opposite sex was (and still is in some places) frowned upon. But I grew up in a town which was a tourist spot attracting a lot of honeymooning couples. When I saw them expressing any kind of public affection, I would shrink inwardly due to my conditioning.... and used to wonder why they had to flaunt so much ... And then one day I fell in love ... .... and understood why those folks couldnt stop looking at each other or have trouble keeping their hands off each other. Until we really walk in another's shoes, we cannot know why they feel the way they do...we can intellectually understand, infer from others experiences, but ....we are only observers...not the experiencers... I believe that is true in most any situation and relationship. Thank you for your honest sharing. Love Nanda
Guest guest
yes, nanda, you are right, of course. there is no doubt that we can only infer and not know what someone else is feeling. in fact, i wouldn't want to suggest that they are not feeling what they feel. i'm sure they do. although i don't want to name anyone's experience, i guess sometimes i do just that. *sigh* work, work and more work.
