Guest guest
Dear friends, Today we have reached verse 124. Perhaps it is a good time to reflect on the verses up to this point (as suggested by Chris), and see whether there are any question or clarifications needed which can forwarded to Swamiji for answers if need be and depending on the time He has avaialble. ========== The verse Whether attainted or unattained, whether small or large, only without desire may enjoyment be had, always being satisfied with the manifestations of consciousness. Please share your thoughts. KaliaDo You ?

Guest guest
Kalia, In the previous descriptions of divine experience (vs. 116-118) we were told that we will see all of creation as expressions of our own soul (purusha). In this section we are told, and it follows naturally, that we are always satisfied with the manifestations of consciousness. We can see, it seems, the whole of all This, or at least the Whole in its parts, and so we have no desires beyond what naturally comes to us. It is a paradox to the normal mind that the objects of enjoyment can only be enjoyed without desire. When we are freed from our bondage to a limited ego, intent only on itself, we see only God in the objects of enjoyment. We are free to enjoy, no longer slaves to a need to define and complete ourselves with the objects, we enjoy as God enjoys, as part of the divine play. We have no emptiness to fill with that which cannot fulfill in the first place. Jai Maa! Chris , Kali Kali <kaliananda_saraswati> wrote: > Dear friends, > > Today we have reached verse 124. Guest guest
Nirmalananda, Thank you for bringing some Chandi into the discussion. Your synopsis of the "problem" of the Chandi, re., that the gods are weak because the ashuras steal all of their offerings, was clearly connected to the operation of the ego. That connection you made, which had never entirely "clicked" with me, was brought into greater focus by Nanda's recent response from Mother, to tell Chandi that this is all Her doing. Being able to maintain that continual connection to the divine, accepting and offering all of our actions in this great yajna that is our life, removes the energy of our attachment from the ego and gives all the enjoyment of experience back to Her, where it does not bind. Thank you for that insight. May we all walk in dharma continually remembering Her presence and Her desire. Jai Maa! Oh Goddess, also instructions about the path of the Guru to liberation, devotion to the Guru, as well as meditation, all have been explained. 129. Oh One of great mental capacity (Mahamate), now I shall enumerate the effects which come from this (Guru Glta -these mantras). Oh Goddess, for the benefit of the inhabitants of all the worlds, do not accept an attitude of worldliness. 130. Those without wisdom who perform actions from worldliness, move in the ocean of the gross world, whereas the wise maintain the attitude that all action is not; action, even while doing. 131. Whoever, with an attitude of devotion, will recite or listen or bestow a writing of these mantras, all of these will produce fruit. 132. Oh Goddess, I have shared the pure principles of the soul of the Guru Gita. For the purpose of destroying the diseases of worldly existence, everyone should always recite as his own. 133. Even one letter of the Guru Gita is as a king of mantras. Others of the myriad of mantras are not to be valued as the sixteenth part (1/16 of one letter). By means of this recitation, one attains infinite rewards. - 134. By reciting the Guru Gita, one attains infinite fruits. All sin is nullified and all affliction is destroyed. It takes away the fear of time and death, and destroys adversity. It takes away the fear of celestial beings, Ionic beings, various disembodied spirits, thieves, and It completely takes away all great afflictions, and gives rise to the attainment of blessings. Even the ability to hold still one's senses or control one's mind is possible one who always recites. By reciting while sitting on a cloth, one becomes et with affliction. Sitting on a stone gives rise to sickness. sitting on the earth, one becomes pained, and upon wood it bears no fruit. 138. By reciting while sitting upon a black deer skin brings the attainment of wisdom, and upon a tiger skin, self- realization. Upon a seat of kusha grass brings the attainment of wisdom, and upon a blanket brings the attainment of all. 139. Oh Goddess, one should cover kusha grass or durva grass with a white blanket, and then oh Goddess, he should recite with one mind. 140. Oh Beloved, one should meditate on the color white for the objective of peace; upon the seat of red to attain self control. To remove ethereal spirits, meditate upon the color black. To bring wealth, meditate upon the color yellow. 141. One should recite facing north desiring peace; facing east for self control. Desiring to slay all adversity, one should face south. Facing west will invite wealth. 142. All of existence becomes mesmerized. All bonds are released. It is the cause of the Love of the King of Gods (Indra). All beings in all worlds are controlled (by it). 143. It is the Lord of all, the cause of restriction (of all iniquity), that which increases good attributes, and that alone which destroys evil action, that which produces the attainments of excellent action. 144. It is the process of accomplishing imperfect effects, removing the fear of the nine planets, destroying bad dreams, and granting the fruit of good dreams. 145. It is the eternal cause of all peace, the grantor of children to those who desire, the cause of averting the widowhood of woman, and always the giver of good fortune. 146. One attains life, freedom from disease, and imperishable qualities for their children and their grandchildren through the generations. If recited by a widow or any woman without desire, she may attain self- realization. Mail MobileTake Mail with you! Check email on your mobile phone. Do You ?Tired of spam?
