Guest guest
Kalia, It follows that if "Those without wisdom who perform actions from worldliness, move in the ocean of the gross world," then "the wise" must move in the ocean of divinity. What must that be like, moving constantly in the ocean of divinity, acting but not acting? It must be very beautiful. Jai Maa! Guest guest
Dear Kalia, This verse is special and ties the Bhagavad Gita and Guru Gita. The sages that originally wrote these two texts must have been close buddies - they seem to agree on the notion of doership of a yogi and a bhogi. Chapter 5 of the Bhagavad Gita almost exclusively discusses this topic - the difference between a yogi (man of union) as a doer, and bhogi (man of desires) as a doer. Swamiji translates Chp 5, vs 8,9 as follows "The man of union, who knows the principles, thinks "I am doing nothing" (or I am not the doer). Even while seeing, hearing, moving, touching, smelling, eating, drinking, moving, sleeping, breathing ,speaking, attending the calls of nature, grasping opening and closing the eyes , he contemplates that the senses are moving among the objects of sense. " And further in verse 11, he says "Only body ,mind, intellect, and organs of knowledge and action work, free from the feeling of mine" What does Swamiji say about the man bound by desires .? In verse 12 of the same chapter , he says , "He who is not in union, motivated by selfish desires, becomes bound by attachment to results" Jai Swamiji Nanda , Kali Kali <kaliananda_saraswati> wrote: > > Dear friends, > > Our verse today is 130. Guest guest
"The resolute in union with Me (Krishna) surrender results, and gain perfect peace; The irresolute, attached to results, are bound by everything they do." Does anyone remember which verse this is? Nanda <chandimaakijai > wrote: Dear Kalia,This verse is special and ties the Bhagavad Gita and Guru Gita.
