Guest guest
Sometimes after evening mantras at the fire with Swamiji he will give us a pop quiz to help us own what we are learning -- last night we chanted the Lalita Trishati Stotram with him and afterwards he asked, "She says in the Lalita that the 300 names are 10 million times more powerful than the 1000 names. Why is this so?" I answered sincerely, "Because She says so." Swamiji wanted a little more . So I continued a little with his help: In the Chandi we have the Highest Meaning of the Goddess in which the secret of the Kadi mantra is given and the 3 types of Maya are explained: The One looking to the One, the One looking to the many the many looking to the One, and the many looking to the many. The Maya of Vedanta, the Maya of Sankhya, and the Maya of Tantra. The Highest Meaning of the Goddess is the compact essence of the Chandi, and like that the Kadi mantra as revealed in the Highest Meaning, is itself an even more compact expression of the Totality. The 15 syllable Kadi mantra is the root mantra of the Lalita Trishati. Swami reminded us that there are 20 names for each of the 15 syllables and that they that come in perfect sequence in the Lalita Trishati as Her 300 names. The 300 names are more powerful by 10 million than her 1000 names. And Hrim even more so! Ka E I La Hrim Ha Sa Ka Ha La Hrim Sa Ka La Hrim The Goddess says in the Devi Gita that Hrim is Her most favorite. Hrim is an even more compact expression of Her Wholeness. Hrim comes at the end of each line of the Kadi. Hrim is the perfection of the gross, subtle and causal, the perfection of the 3. Om and Hrim are Shiva and Shakti -- Pure Undifferentiated Consciousness and the Infinite Creation. Ka E I La Hrim Ha Sa Ka Ha La Hrim Sa Ka La Hrim Om Tat Sat Jai Maa!!!
