I wonder if a Guru Gita homa would be an appropriate celebration of Guru Purnima (since I can't visit the Mandir)? Such an auspicious confluence of events certainly requires something special. Guest guest
The date for Guru Purnima is 20 July and I agree with you, it is soooooooo wonderful and we should do something special. If we decide on a Guru Gita Homa for this satsanga group our pujari might have to be Nanda but since we do not know her schedule, this would have to be worked out among us as we go along. The important thing here is to get everyone involved and devoted to the highest degree possible. I am already planning to take that day off work to honour Guruji. Can you check the days for me to be sure that we are correct. How wonderful are our Gurus to give us this blessing - do and get. JAIIII Guru ki jai. Guest guest
Kalia, I just checked and you are right, the last verse is on Guru Purnima on July 20th. As far as the homa is concerned, there is no reason to make a big deal of it. If we decide as a group to recite, well, perhaps some can recite in front of the altar, and some in front of the fire if they feel so inclined. Jai Maa!
