Shama,

Good questions. That's for the inspiration.

> is religion karmic?

Everything we do creates karma. So how we practice religion will create

karma for us. The first goal is: do good and create only good karma.

We cannot avoid karma, we must do karma. Not even the most powerful Rishis

can avoid their karma. If they are here, then they have karma to do.

There are two ways to stop the karmic cycle: first we can do the karma

without attachment and second we can perform sadhana and receive a boon of

wisdom which makes the karma unnecessary. When we perform sadhana we are

actually performing the karma, but because we do it with full awareness it

has no affect on us and thus the cycle is broken. You can see that these

two ways are actually the same, the first happens in the outer worlds and

the second in the inner worlds. Each world a reflection of the other.

It may seem that exposing darkness to light and disturbing the demons is a

bad idea, but it is only through their exposure that we can see them for

what they truly are, phantoms created by our fragmented and unhealthy

minds. Guru (The light that illuminates darkness) breaks our bounds of

karma by showing us our sins -- our demons -- and then with the love that

only He can express tells us we are loved purely, totally, and without

judgement. It is that love which frees us of the fear of these demons and

renders them powerless.

Krishna is such a guru. Shiva is such a Guru. Durga is such a guru. And

Chandi, whoa, she is that Guru!

> Does the cup of compassion transform the demons?

Yes, you got it. Keep in mind it is not compassion for the demons, it is

compassion for us, for the parts of our minds that accept Guru whole

heartedly.

Goddess Bless.
